Suggest Treatment For Fever And Breathlessness

My husband was diagnosed with PRES almost 3 weeks ago. He has yet to fully wake up. He has fevers...hard time breathing. He s had a ventilator for 17 days. All tests have come back with no answers.. The doctors have done catscans, mri, blood work, endoscopy, colonoscopy, called in different doctors and no one can tell us why he s still not responding. We don t know where to turn next. Can you help?

Hello,

PRES is a reversible condition mostly occurs after high blood pressure, also has many other causes as well.

I want to know about his Blood pressure and other lab tests as well in order to make conclusive diagnosis. I am sure doctors are doing their best to treat your husband.

I suggest you to trust your doctors and let them do their work, ask them to help you regarding their understanding of his condition and ongoing treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr SAMEEN BIN NAEEM, General & Family Physician
