Suggest Treatment For Fever And Frequent Urination With Blood
My 26 yr old son had a fever last week followed by blood in his urine. Now a week later he is experiencing discharge and some pain with frequent urination. He just moved out of the house and doesn’t have a Dr. Should he look for a GP or a Urologist.
The features of frequent urination, fever, blood in urine shows he has urinary tract infection. Most probably it could be urinary bladder infection. He must get his urine routine and urine for bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity test done. It would be good if he also get an abdominal ultrasound examination for the kidneys, ureter and bladder especially to rule out any urinary tract stone as a cause of this infection. He should consult a urologist who would prescribe appropriate antibiotics to control the infection. It would be good if he takes at least 2 to 3 liters of fluids per day to wash out the bacteria, till complete resolution of infection.
