Suggest Treatment For Fever And Itchy Rashes On Cheeks, Ears And Knees

In the last two days, I have developed severe, itchy rash on my cheeks, ears, arms, breasts, knees and ankle areas. I have also had a fever at night (103 first night, 100 last night. Fever subsides in morning.) My knees, which are very broken out, are hot to touch and sore to move. As far as I know, I haven t eaten anything different than usual, no new soaps or lotions, no walks outside, etc. No trips to new places, etc. I am 69 years old. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of fever and itchy rashes on cheeks, ears and knees which seems to be be due to viral infection.

Need not to worry. Usually symptoms will resolve in 5 days on its own. I would suggest you to start with paracetamol every 4 hourly. Maintain hydration status well. Avoid taking large meals and have small but frequent meals. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. Take curd in diet. Start taking oral rehydration fluids sip by sip to maintain the hydration. Apply cold compresses on rashes.
