Suggest Treatment For Fever And Joint Pain In An Elderly Person

My wife, age 61 and in generally good health, has a fever of 102 and joint pain. This has been going on for a few days. She s planning to fly cross county tomorrow early AM to take an art work shop in Sante Fe followed by visiting family in San Francisco. I m worried about it and don t think she should go. Should I get her to urgent care?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This looks like a possible viral fever. I would recommend you to give her symptomatic treatment like paracetamol and get her investigated further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Haleema Yezdani, General & Family Physician
