Suggest Treatment For Fever And Skin Rashes

My son had fever for last 9 days now .First 3 days it was high in the range of 102 to 104 . Later its has been in the range of 98.4 to 102 but 2 time it has touched 104 in last 6 days . He has cold hands and feet generally and gets just before the fever starts to come down he the palms and feet get warmer .He has felt cold and a little chills 4-5 times in 8 days . Yesterday a Homeopath gave us RHUS TOX 1m and Lycooodium 1m globules .He asked us to mis 2 globules in 30ml of water and give alternatively every 2 hrs and 3 doses of each in a day. Thankfully the fever has come down. But he has started getting redish rashes all over the body with some itching from yesterday (even bofore we started giving him the doeses ). Before we started on Homeo , we have been giving him Crocin every 4 hrs and Ibugesic everytime it went above 102 F. We stopped Ibugesic yesterday suspecting this rashes to be more due to ibugesic . Today the rashes have been acute and are reappearing even if i am using calamine. Is he on right medication ? Kindly help.

Hello,

Fever of a few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually, rather than fever, what is more, important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably a viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once the viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about the duration if the kid is active.

Paracetamol can be given only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
