Suggest Treatment For Fever And Sore Throat
I have been having a terrible sore throat, and changing temperature from 96.8 (Fahrenheit) to 103.0 (Farenheit) I had a headache yesterday. This all started yesterday morning when I woke up with a slight sore throat, I popped an Ibuprofen and went to my volleyball camp. Anyways, I ve tried tons of home remedies such as sucking on lozenges, gargling salt water, drinking tea, I ve drank tons of water today, also by the way, my tonsils have no visible swelling, increased redness or spots. But it hurts pretty bad, I ve been taking Ibuprofen all day, my throat hurts a little bit while resting and hurts terribly when I swallow. Is there any illness you think I have in particular? Are there any ways that I can fix this? Do you know what caused this? I haven t been around any sick people recently. Should I see a doctor tomorrow? What medicine (over the counter) should I be taking? Thanks so much in advance!

Hi,
Yes, you need to see your doctor immediately. High fever of more than 101 should be controlled as early as possible. Uncontrolled fever can even cause convulsions. You may even require intravenous paracetamol to reduce your fever. Antibiotics should be taken to reduce the pharyngitis and prevent bacterial infections.
