Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
his ankles swell he has puffiness similar to Cellulist, his condition is bilateral. his pain is to the touch runs fever he was on IV s on both visits and had a hospital stay of two to four days. Doctors have yet to make a diagnosis. I firmly believe he has poor circulation. I have read a case in New York with the same symptoms. the individual was female and she is 21 yrs old with the same condition. He also has a couch. he s on oral antibotics. pain med is ibuprofen 600mg antibiotic is mymo something or other.
At the out set we can suspect for a joint related infection. He can be re-investigated for reactive arthritis as well. Meanwhile continuing the oral antibiotics and proper diet and fluid care.
Hopefully we can also expect an improvement with the present treatment. For persistence fever and other symptoms, an orthopedic opinion will be better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Santosh Mishra, General & Family Physician
