Suggest Treatment For Fever In A 9 Month Old Child

My 9 month old has a temperature of 101.1 what can I do? I am with my parents out in the country. She s been hot all day and they just rode me all the way to a rite aid to get a thermometer. I didn t think to get medicine because I was hoping she didn t have one. We ve been in a hot house all day because their air went out. Do you think that has anything to do with it? It s even hotter outside. What can I do to lower it???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
So temperature is high ( surroundings ) , this is natural that there will hot .
But 2nd point is teething ( at the age of nine months ) , as I have noted that few child got high temperature due to teething.
So in your case , hot weather , teething may be the reason.
But we can't rule out viral ( if nose is running with mild cough ).
In such type of case cold sponging , tylenol ( paracetamol 10 mg / kg body weight according to high temperature ).
Child will respond .
If there is other symptoms like vomiting , headache ( severe ) then consult a child specialist and get his opinion.
I find this answer helpful
