Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 19month baby girl had a fever of 105.0 yesterday the fever has between 100-101 today. Went to the ER yesterday, they checked her blood count, urine strep-throat and chest xray everything came back normal. No vomiting today only 1 yesterday, no runny nose no cough no ear infection. What could be wrong with her?
This is most likely a simple viral fever. If she is otherwise active and feeding as usual, we need not worry. Just give her acetaminophen 3 -4 times a day for two days. Ondansetron can help if vomiting recurs.
Usually viral fever will subside by 3rd or 4th day. If fever persists beyond 4 days, or she becomes lethargic or not taking feeds, kindly take her back to pediatrician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
