General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your child has been given an antibiotic to treat infection and also a cough syrup that contains 3 cough medications.

I would advise you to give the treatment to the child as the doctor has recommended and also to avoid any other over the counter medications for cough as he already is taking cough medications.

Make sure the baby is kept well hydrated and if there is any worsening or if there is no improvement in the next 3-4 days of starting the antibiotic, he needs to be seen by the doctor again.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
