Suggest Treatment For Fever In The Child

Thanks in advance. my child 20 monthsIis not eating anything from yesterday. she is passing gas also some time. I hv come to my mother place. so she has eaten some chocolates also .but not much .now shi is having fever about1.i hv given her meftal p 5 mg.what else u suggest.we use tap water for drinking. might be it didn t suit her

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child has fever which could be due to bacterial or viral infection. Need not to worry about it. You can continue with Meftal P 5mg. You can give crocin syrup 5ml 4-5 times a day depending upon fever. You can You should give DayQuil as well. If fever increases do tepid sponging as well with cold water. Monitor dosage for child. Give mild dose after every 4hrly as Meftal-p contains mefamic acid and paracetamol. Use mist humidifiers in room. Visit pediatrician once if symptoms keeps on persisting. The common side effects of Meftal-P are gastritis, abdominal discomfort, so it should not given on empty stomach and the duration of treatment should not be long. You should keep child dehydrated always.
