Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 3 1/2 year old daughter has been carrying a fever for almost a week ranging between 100-103. She has a red throat & now I can see small white bumps on the back of her tongue. I can't tell if there is anything on her throat. The last couple of days, she hasn't spiked a fever until later in the afternoon.
Hi With your query, your kid might be having pharyngitis which is the cause for fever.I hope you might have already visited your pediatrician if not today only visit him get it treated.Till then you can use plain paracetamol with continuous wetting of the his/her forehead and body by wet spunging cloth for every 1-2 hours thus maintain the body temperature otherwise there are chances of geeting febriles if temperature goes beyond 102 degrees. For pharyngitis your pediatrician will prescribe which antibiotic to use till then avoid giving cold liquids and be alert with temperature.there are chances it could be a viral also because you give history of temperatures are maintained at high for longer time.Hope this is helpful.
