Suggest Treatment For Fever, Runny Nose And Cough In An Infant

Hi, My baby is 8 month old. Suddenly he got fever. No symptoms of cold, nose water or etc. Rest is all good. Doctor said that it seems viral infection and gave HICOPE drops. After 3 days now he has runny nose and cough. Should I consult again doctor for any antibacterial or else?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query about your 8 months old baby, I would advice you to consult the pediatrician again if he is not recovering after 3 days for having a proper diagnosis. If fever is there still there, then paracetamol should be given.

I hope the information helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Jyoti Pandey
