Suggest Treatment For Fever, Sore Throat And Cough

I got a sore throat about 4 days ago and I felt run down. I didn t have a runny nose, but I started to feel mucous running down the back of my throat yesterday or the day before. Then I started to cough up mucous yesterday, which is very painful. last evening and this evening I developed a fever -- about 3 degrees above normal for me, so I took ibuprofen and tylenol before bed and woke up without a fever and feeling somewhat better, but still had low energy. I stayed in bed most of today and this evening the fever is back along with achiness all over and hyper sensitive skin. This doesn t seem to be just a cold because itmis no getting better?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that sore throat along with mucous in throat and fever seems to be due to Viral infection only although you do not have classical symptoms of cold..
I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a blood test can be diagnostic..
You can be advised to continue to take Ibuprofen and Tylenol to relieve fever and pains..
You can do warm saline gargles..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
You can take cough expectorant containing Guaifenesin..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
Suck throat lozenges..
Drink plenty of water and take appropriate rest..
