Suggest Treatment For Fever, Swollen Chin And Red Rash
Hello my name is Rasha, I have a really strange question. My chin is so swollen i look like a cartoon character as my husband would say. I wasnt in any accident, I didnt get hit or anything like that. I have very bad teeth and my two front bottom teeth have no gum. My chin is swollen, fevered and hurts to the touch. Now this morning when I woke up it was red blotchy and hurt 10 times worse! What could this be and what could cause this?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swelling over the chin can be due to two main causes: 1. Swollen submental salivary gland secondary to infection. 2.Swollen submental group of lymph nodes.. Other cause can be cellulitis in the area secondary to infection from teeth and gums spreading to the soft tissues..
It should be taken into immediate consideration and you should consult an oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now do cool compresses over swelling.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Motrin or Aleve.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
