Suggest Treatment For Fever, Swollen Tonsils And Sweating During Pregnancy

Hi! I am 18 weeks pregnant and for the last 3 days I have the following symptoms: 1) fever 38.5 2) both tonsils severly swollen and sore hard to swallow 3) sweating 4) weaknes I have been taking 1000mg paracetamol every 4 hours as it helps. Do I need to see a Dr or just bed rest?

Hello
I had gone through your question and I can understand your concern
this could be due to URTI may be a bacterial or viral infection
in my opinion you should see a doctor for examination and a battery of tests like hemoglobin CBC CRP ESR
you may require a course of antibiotics under supervision of your doctor

you are taking very large doses of paracetamol it can damage your liver please ask your doctor to reduce its doses to 500 mg every 8 hourly or need based

You can do gargles with warm saline water or antiseptic solution
steam inhalation
Cold.sponging for fever
multivitamin supplements
wishing you a very good health
