Suggest Treatment For Fever While Having Urinary Tract Infection

My mom who is 62 years old has been having UTI. She was strated on Norflox 400 2 days back. Her fever was around 100 degrees the next day but shot up at night to 104 degrees. Do you think we should change antibiotics or show to another doctor. I am really concerned since she has been having fever for last 5 days now.

Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic.
UTI is a common cause of fever with chills and rigors. Since she is already on antibiotics, urine culture will not yield positivity. In my opinion continue the antibiotic treatment for a weeks duration and then get urine routine microscopy tested. She would be relieved by then, in case infection persists go in for a urine culture after five days of stopping antibiotic and give the antibiotic which comes sensitive in that report.
