Hi, I am a 39 year old female, generally very active/healthy, suffering from flu or possible pneumonia. Became very sick quickly after onset of symptoms 3.5 days ago (sore throat/cough/fever). Cough produces yellow colored mucus with some blood tinged yesterday. Doctor prescribed z pak and cough suppressant (not taking). It s been 24 hours since first dose of antibiotic. Over the course of the last 24 hours my temperature has spiked and dropped multiple times. It s ranged from 96.6 (right now) to 102.5. I am still bedridden and feeling very unwell with bad cough. I am not taking suppressant as I feel like I can t breathe if I don t clear my chest some by coughing. Is this temperature fluctuation cause for concern? Should I be improving by now?
