Suggest Treatment For Fever,cough And Watery Eyes In A Child

My 3 and half month old son has watery eyes,husky voice and a cough.he's not drinking many of his bottles and his temperature has gone up and down for hours.his temperature is 37.9 ive given him 2.5ml of calpol and he's been in a vest all day.is there anything else i should do or do i ring nhs?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Probably he is suffering from viral infection (cold).
Calpol is given in a dose of 15 mg/kg body weight every 4-6 hourly depending on the necessity.
Cetrizine syrup may relieve cold symptoms.
Steam inhalation and saline nasal drops locally may help.
Avoid cool drinks and ice creams.
Keep in warm atmosphere.
