Suggest Treatment For Fibromyalgia

I have fibromyalgia and my family doctor prescribed 30mg adderall twice daily. With that I have been able to get off of all the heavy pain meds I was on and it helped my chronic fatuige. I am now out of state and not able to make the 14 hour drive to my doctor and I am having trouble with the doctors here not wanting to treat me

Hi,

Adderall (Dextroamphetamine-Amphetamine ) is not in the approved list of drugs for the treatment of Fibromyalgia.

Physical and psychologic dependency can occur quickly with these agents.

Pharmacologic treatment consists of mainly Antidepressants like balanced serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors/SSRIs (Amitryptiline, Duloxetine, Milnacipran) and Anticonvulsants like Gabapentin, Pregabalin.

On the other hand- Non-pharmacologic treatment like Activities that promote improved physical function with relaxation, such as yoga and Tai Chi, may be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
