Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has Fibromyalgia and just recently had SAMe recommended to her. She has been taking Valerian root and St. Johns Wort for depression for about 2 weeks. But we do not want any negative interactions. Will SAMe negatively interact with Valerian root or St. Johns Wort ? Or will together they produce too much Serotonin?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. SAMe (s adenosinemethionine) is aminoacid helpful in fibromyalgia pain. It is also having additional beneficial effects in depression. So no need to worry for drug interactions between SAMe with Valerian Root and St. John wort. All are safe together. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
