Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had my uterus and cervix removed when I was 28. For the past year I have had some discomfort in my lower abdomen, actually more like 2 years. I have no outward discharge but I can run a q-tip around in my vagina and it is brown. I went to a Urologist and he did run an Ultra Sound and took a Biopsy that came back normal. I am very prone to kidney and urinary infections. Antibiotics do not help. I have to urinate often and sometimes it is very painful as well as sex. I do have Fibromyalgia and I know we have trigger points in our vagina also. I have lost my appetite and feel bloated almost everyday. Is there a possibility that I could have cancer or infection that won t clear up? Sometimes my tissue is light pink when I dry myself and it has been very red before. but only a few spots. At my age I believe the best alternative is to have my ovaries removed. It would certainly ease my mind and perhaps stop the discharge. Thank you for taking your time to hopefully find some answers.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As fibromyalgia is a condition where there is inflammation of the fibres of the muscles. A single muscle contains numerous muscle fibers and this muscle fibers act together to produce muscle contraction leading to movement of the muscle. As most cases in my clinical practice respond well to a combination of physical therapy , meditation and breathing exercises. Physical therapy includes - therapeutic ultrasound therapy, TENS therapy and exercises
Meditation - helps to reduce the anxiety and depression.
Breathing exercises - this helps to improve the blood carrying oxygen cells and reduce the metabolic waste formed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
