Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a lot of allergies and fibromyalgia, arthritis and lichen sclerosis. Lately I have had a horrible red rash line under my breast and where my leg meets my Vagina... you can imagine how much fun I have! I use special detergent and white vinegar as a softener. Help!!!
The rash may be intertrigo which is a rash that involves the body folds (under the breasts, axilla, groin). It is due to inflammation of these areas but can be complicated by an infection as well- fungal or bacterial.
The inflammation itself is due to moisture, friction and heat in the area , so treatment means that these need to be reduced. (1)use loose clothing, cotton or linen material (2)separate the folds whenever possible (3)use barrier creams like zinc based creams or petrolatum
May need agents such as triple paste or greer goo which contain a combination of products
I hope this helps
