I have noted your child's symptoms.
A single episode of
seizure does not qualify to be called as epilepsy and there is no need to start anti-epileptic medications. This is because 50% of children with a single episode of seizure would not develop another seizure ever in their lives.
However, a detailed evaluation is needed to find out the cause. This includes
MRI brain epilepsy protocol and EEG (
electroencephalography). If any abnormality is found on any of these two investigations, it should be treated, and anti-epileptic medications should be started.
