Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my friend has floaters or flashes in her eyes. her doctor examined but said there is nothing to do ; eventually it will stop when the sac behind her eye dries up. Part of old aging. this doesn t see right? Is there nothing OTC that she cannot apply?
Hi and welcome to HCM, Fortunately, floaters , for a majority of time, are innocent. But in cases of elderly individuals, diabetics, hypertensives, they could be a sign of something serious. In your case, your doctor has examined you and opined that they are the innocent ones and will gradually disappear. My only advice is that, seek immediate medical attention, if the number of floaters suddenly increase in number and are accompanied by flashes of light. All the very best health for you and your family!!!
