General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I Understand your concern.
More gas , flatulence & painful pressure in abdomen can be due to-
- Wrong way of breast feeding ... with wrong rooting ( hold on nipple)causing lot of swallowing of air/Excessive crying .
- Over feeding./ underfeeding making her cry.
- Food intolerance ( Lactose)
- Immature digestion.
* Management-
- Consult a breast feeding consultant & know proper position during breast feeding./ Burping after each feed would reduce the symptoms...
-Mild fomentation of abdomen with soft cloth would relieve pain.
- A happy, co operative & comfortable baby with minimum 5-6 times urination in a day & normal motion/ weekly 140 - 250 gms weight gain after 4 weeks of birth... indicates sufficient feeding to baby
- Gripe water can be given with boiled water twice a day .
- If no response with home management take the baby to pediatrician for detailed examination for food allergies / intolerance.
Thanks.
