Suggest Treatment For Fluid Discharge From The Nose
Hi I fell about two months ago and have a clear fluid coming out of my nose most of the time but not all the time. I get mucus in my throat often which I have to clear. I had hit my nose when I fell. There was blood and clots( a lot) and clear CSF fluid draining after the bleeding stopped. Now I find it difficult to sleep at night and try everything from chamomile tea to homeopathic calms forte. Nothing works. Heat seems to help dry out the the clear watery mucus? I take tumeric, ginger, aloe, neem and noni. Please help Sunila jalota
Hello dear Understand your concern. I think it is CSF leakage due to trauma. You should consult the doctor immediately as it cause meningitis. Also do CT scan and chemical analysis of CSF for beta transferrin as it is marker of CSF leakage.
Meanwhile take the following advice: Take bed rest Head rise about 15-30 degree. Decreased excertion, Avoid sneezing, coughing. Antibiotics; cefuroxime Diuretics like acetazolamide can be useful
If not responds Last option is surgery to repair damage.
Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
