Suggest Treatment For Fluid Filled Growing Itchy Blister On Palm

I think I have a parasite in the heel of my hand...itches like craxy and looks yellowish even though the palm tissue is thick and a strange place for an infection..I pricked it with a pin and only clear fluid came out...put neosporin on it and it started to heal, but the little yellow itchy line keeps moving with each effort..its zig zagging down the heal of my palm.. Finally soaked it in hot salt water after this last effort to open it up and then put a wide patch of nail polish over it to suffocate it before it moves much further. Should I go have this looked at or can I get rid of it myself? Got it from a rain soaked chicken/duck pen when I was on my hands and knees installing wire mesh to keep the chicks in....worked past the mired muddy side of the duck pond. Ugh. Thank you for hearing this. Lori

Hello,

Wash your hands with warm water with few drops of Dettol or Savlon in it. Apply cold compress 3-4 times a day or when you feel uncomfortable. Take vitamin A rich food and stay away from anything that you think causes you allergy. You can take non sedating antihistamines, one daily for 5 or 7 days. Keep your palms moisturized with creams containing aloe vera or you can also apply hydrocortisone ointment or cream to get rid of the itching.

Take care of your hygiene. If you continue to feel the discomfort, visit ER, get clinically examined. In case if it is scabies, you can apply Ascabiol lotion in the palms or any area affected, leave it for 30-40 minutes and then have a shower. Repeat after 15 days. It should go away.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
