Hi,
Definitely, apart from the other various reasons of fever and chills, the presenting or accompanying symptoms of
follicular lymphoma may be painless swelling, fever,
night sweats, easy fatigability, weight loss, coughing along with
shortness of breath, pain in the chest or abdomen.
In my opinion, if these symptoms persist or increase in severity, then you should be investigated further to rule out other condition which may cause presence of these symptoms. If no other cause is found, then it may be the right time to start your treatment. Good point is that it is a slow growing tumor with much better prognosis in most cases. >90%
survival rate after 5 years and nearly 60% after 20 years is being recorded at present and prognosis is likely to be better in near future with better understanding and better options available.
However, you are advised to go by the advice of your treating physician /
oncologist, as he is in a better position to judge your condition and formulate a plan for you keeping in view a better prognostic outcome.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
