Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have bumps that occur usually in lumps together. They only hurt when I wear jeans that put friction on them but I can usually feel them coming in a day before they are visible. Some of them are filled with puss, while some aren t. About a year ago, I first got them and I had to go to the hospital due to the terrible pain. They told me I had folliculitis, but if they gave me medicine to cure it, why am I still getting these bumps ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have folliculitis . Folliculitis is a common skin condition in which hair follicles become inflamed. It's usually caused by a bacterial or fungal infection . Friction is most common reason for their occurrence other reasons are heat , sweat and dermatitis . I wuld suggest you to keep that area dry , wear loose cloths , apply a warm, moist washcloth or compress , apply soothing lotions and gently wash the infected skin twice a day with antibacterial soap .Consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial or anti fungal medicine along with procedure like laser hair removal and light therapy .
