Suggest Treatment For Foot Osteoarthritis
I have osteoarthritis in my feet. About 50% of my job is manual labor which includes walking on concrete, some heavy lifting and moving furniture around on a hand dolly. Of course it is painful and I can deal with that. But my question is..can this type of work actually make the arthritis worse...or does it just make it more painful at times? My thinking is that arthritis is arthritis..it s there no matter whether I am working manual labor or sitting behind a desk. Thank you.

Arthritis is a degenerative disease of the joints which means that the more the joints are used the more they wear off, resulting in worsening of arthritis.
So, I would say that manual labor and heavy lifting should be contributing to a faster progression of arthritis.
