Suggest Treatment For Foreign Substance Stuck In Throat

My husband, who works off shore, had to go to the hospital this morning. He had food stuck in his throat from his dinner the night before and was unable to eat or drink anything without choking. I was not able to make it to the hospital he went to for treatment. the doctor did a scope and found his throat was closed and yes there was food stuck in it. My husbands account was, they stretched his throat out and also did a biopsy. Why would they have felt the need for a biopsy if there were no other symptoms? and why would his throat close to small for food to pass? he has no history of allergies. He will be home tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to get more information from him- he was pretty groggy by the time we were able to speak.

Good day and thank you for posting this question. The doctor took a biopsy because there are probably some changes in the colour or size of his throat, the biopsy will be taken to the lab for histology to know whether he has a throat cancer or not. His throat might be too small for food to pass because probably he has enlarged throat and which was why the doctor took a biopsy.
