Suggest Treatment For Frayed Ligaments In Left Knee
My doctor said I have frayed ligaments in my left knee. He gave me an injection about 1 1/2 years ago and the pain is gone. What can be done for frayed ligaments? will physical therapy help? He told me I cannot run on a treadmill or any exercise that results in the pounding that running creates.
Healing of frayed ligaments can take up to 12 weeks. The injured tendon may need to be supported with a splint or cast to take tension off of the repaired tendon. Physical therapy or occupational therapy is usually necessary to return movement in a safe manner.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
