Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a torn penile frenulum, I ve researched the operations that can be done but I m still wondering how much any of these operations will cost in Canada and if there is any way to keep the frenulum and seperate it from the foreskin because it s apparently the most sensitive part.
Hello dear Understand your concern Fenulum breve is condition where frenulum get shorten and restrict the movement of foreskin/ It is not fully retracted. First you have to consult the urologist or plastic surgeon to confirm the frenulum breve because sometime this condition may be confused with phimosis. So phimosis should be rule out by clinical examination by urologist/general surgeon. In some case this problem can be improved by stretching and by steroid application. But best treatment of frenulum breve after confirmation is surgery under local anesthesia. There is two type of surgery: 1. Circumscision: In this procedure frenulum is cut with foreskin 2. Frenuloplasty: In this surgery, frenulum should be repaired and lengthen. So first consult the urologist for confirmation and then go for surgery according to advice by doctor. Cost will depend onsurgeon practice and experience. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
