Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having headaches more frequently than usual, at least once every week, but this is the third time I am struck this week and it is quite a bit worse than I am used to. I usually take 2 Advil or alieve and it goes away. Ive taken 2 this morning and then a couple hrs ago I took and anvil and a tylenol and it isn t helping. I have a constant dull pain but when I stand or sit down my whole head pounds heavily and then goes away after a minute. When I am not changing elevation the dull pain is isolated to my forehead. And now I just started to notice my neck is starting to hurt a little when a look one way or the other. I am just miserable and want it to go away. I am hoping it will be gone tomorrow but do you think it s anything serious or just a migraine. I do not see a physician regularly and have never been seen for my headache issue. Thanks in advance.
The location and movement of a pain gives clues as to what is going on. Pinched nerves in the neck cause pain that runs up the back of the head. Migraine tends to be on one side. There are many other causes and cannot say in your particular case, but generally, these and tension and sinus headache (both of which are in the front) are some of the more common causes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
