Suggest Treatment For Frequent Loose Motion
Hello Doctor, My father recently (10 days back) suffered a heart attack. He had a single blocked blood vessel and subsequently had undergone Angioplasty (with a medicated stent). He is now discharged from the hospital (5 days ago) and the cardiologist prescribed the medicines - Stromix, Zilast, Flavedon MR, Pantocid-D, Atorva and Nebula. My father is now experiencing loose motion, atleast 4 times during the day and the same number of times during the night (atleast 8 in total). However, he is not experiencing too much tiredness as it would normally be with loose motion. Is this normal with the above medicines or is it something which requires attention by the doctor? Please advise.

Your query being appreciated, the given medicines may not be the cause of the diarrhea your father have but it could be due to the diet taken passing of the stool three times in day could be normal one and it is the self limiting condition only care needs to be taken for dehydration, if the symptoms persist for days then it has to be taken into consideration for infection and in my opinion Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day for five days can be tried, hope this information helps.
