Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination And Slight Tremors After Suddenly Discontinuing Drinking

I have consumed heavy amounts of alcohol in the recent weeks. Today I decreased the amount drastically and made a 10 hour drive. Tonight I ve had to get up and pee every 15-20 minutes. The urine is not clear, but close. Now I can t concentrate and I m slightly shaking. I am in a cold room that maybe contributing to the shaking. Should I seek medical attention?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for your query on HCM!

Urine color changing and frequent urination, shaking (maybe fevers), indicate an urinary tract infection. Do you have pain during urination? Anyway you consider some tests. Complete blood count and blood glucose followed by an urine test to see if any infection is there.
If yes you have to take antibiotics, for example ciprofloxacin twice daily, and a lot of fluids too.

Take care and kind regards.
Dr Eriol.
