Hi Increased frequency in diabetes, one of the most common cause is urinary tract infection (UTI).but UTI usually associated with fever, burning during urination, and abnormal urine analysis reports. But uti can occur without significant abnormalities in routine urine microscopic examination. In that case u may need a urine culture and sensitivity reporting. The other possibility in your case is prostatomegsly which is common in old age. An ultrasound examination can help in diagnosing the same. So I suggest you to go for a urine culture testing and ultrasound for prostrate. Also drinking plenty of water will help you in treating UTI,but avoid drinking more water at bed time as it may cause increased nocturnal frequency of urination and prolonged stasis of urine in bladder during sleep will increase the chance of uti.
Thank you
