Suggest Treatment For Frozen Shoulders And Bruising

Hello, 2 years ago I had worked in a building that did not have heat. Weather conditions were very cold. I have always had cold hands and cold feet. After working all day and having very cold feet I would immediately take a hot shower to warm up. Always, the bottom of my feet, below the toes, it would feel like I was stepping on a small ball. It wasn t painful, just bothersome. Eventually spring came and I ended up moving to another state. About 2 months into spring I started to have pain in my shoulder. It was very painful and I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder which went into one shoulder then started into another. I had treatment and they are both fine now. But the bottom of my feet are starting to bother me again with the same symptoms as when I was working in the cold but they also are hurting. Also, I find that if I step on something, not that hard, I will start to feel some pain and will notice that it looks like a bruise. It s looks like I broke a blood vessel. This has been happening on my hands for a number of years now and has gotten worse. It s very annoying. I am thinking that it all has to do with poor circulation. I do have high blood pressure, for about 8/9 years now and I am a female, age 55. Any feed back as what you think & why this is happening to me would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time! Beth

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If you have radiating pain from the back of the neck to the hand, with tingling and numbness, it could be cervical spondylosis. According to the area shown in the photo, it appears to be a case of shoulder joint adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder.

It would be helpful to get an Ultrasound or MRI of the affected shoulder. Apply hot packs to the affected region. Perform range of movement exercises of the shoulder. Avoid bending neck forward or lifting weights. Avoid using thick pillow.

Take Tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg twice a day after meals
Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day before meals for 5 days

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
