Thank you for your query.
If you have a
fungal infection, you will need to use anti fungal creams . if the itching and inflammation are very severe you would be prescribed anti fungal in addition to
steroids like
hydrocortisone which relieve the itch.
Hydrocortisone should never be used alone when you have an infection as it can worsen it. If what you are using has not helped, you need to see a
dermatologist and get either a more potent medication or a different one. you may also need to take tablets, depending on the cause and extent.
The dermatologist may need to test a portion of the affected skin in order to find out but that will be developed dead after you have seen him.
There are certain
home remedies to relieve you pr symptoms but it should not be used on broken skin, make sure to ask you doctor of those .
10 months is a long time to wait, if your family physician won't help, find another one, or go to a dermatologist directly if that's possible.
hope I've helped. in the mean time, avoid hot baths and harsh soaps which worsen the itch. wash you clothes in hot water till the infection ( if that's the case) goes away
please get back to us if you need further clarification
wish you good health
