Suggest Treatment For Gastritis And Rapid Heart Rate

Hello. My mom has copd and has had a massive heart attack years ago. Her ef is 15. She normally feels pretty good under the circumstance. Yesterday she felt fine. Today she is having problems with gas and her pulse has gone up to 145. Her blood pressure has been within normal limits. the pulse rate goes down and a little while later it may go back up and she experiences belching and sweats. Could this be from what she ate or should I call 911. Right now she is relaxed and things are normal. no belching, normal readings. How can I know when it is reasonable or an emergancy? Sorry I didn t realize you had to pay to get answer. I will try elsewhere.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Belching is way of body to expel out air from stomach whether it is due to excess swallowed air or produced because of food digestion or acid reflux or gastritis etc.

During deep breathing some amount of air get swallowed in stomach through esophagus.

Your mother should take a deep breath whenever there is belching or burping, it must be taken with your nose only because even slight open mouth will allow the air to get swallowed and lead to further belching.

Rapid heart rate could have occurred because of gas trouble and if it has come down to normal then there is nothing to be worried but yes,if she feels palpitations, anxiety, tremors with rapid heart rate then you should seek emergency help from 911 since heart is weak (EF 15%) along with a history of heart attack.

She should eat high protein and easily digestive food rather than carbohydrates or fatty foods.

Drink much of water will reduce belching if her doctor has allowed it.

Regards,
