Hi, HPV causes genital warts and warts in other locations, and is usually secondary to type 6 and 11. It only presents with warts and usually does not progress to malignancy. Type 16& 18 have high risk HPV and can cause cancer in future. You need to get a vaccine against HPV virus at the earliest. You can get treated for your infection through removal of it by biopsy or laser. If you strongly suspect you can get a Polymerase Chain Reaction test done on the biopsy to identify the strain of HPV causing the lesion. Hope this helps. Any further query, happy to help again.
