Suggest Treatment For Genu Varum

Hello Dr. I m suffering from Genu Varum. It s around 8 cm. I m 28, male. Right now my main job is to sit in the library for 8 hours and study. I take no excercise. Is surgery the only way to treat this? What if I delay the surgery for several more years? Is it going to be dangerous if I delay it?

Hi,

The answer to this needs a lot of information. Is the genu varum there by birth or developed over time or a result of some trauma? Does it give you some sort of discomfort? Your present work requirement doesn't put much pressure on your lower limbs, hence, would not worsen the present condition if the surgery is delayed unless you are a physically active person otherwise.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
