I am 28 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes a week ago. I have also had a bad cold and I cannot get better . Today the caughing started from my chest and my stomach hurts when I caugh. My blood sugar levels are 141 2 hours after Breakfast and then under 120 after lunch and dinner . Should I call my OB ?
Your post breakfast levels 141 mg% and post lunch 120 mg% are not very high levels, one can say they are almost within normal limits.
Cough you have developed may be secondary infection in the lower respiratory tract. In diabetes, there always a high chance of developing any infection. You have to be very careful for that.
Now you may have to take some antibiotics and antitussive medicine to control your chest infection and cough.
Please report to your Obstetrician. Do not ignore the infection lest the risk of developing serious infection due to diabetes.
I hope you got the advice.
