Suggest Treatment For Gram-positive Cocci In A New Born Baby

My week old baby had eye swabs and doctor said they came back as showing gram positive cocci. He has been prescribed antibiotics in the form of chloramphenicol eye drops. I am so worried it is serious as I have been googling and finding pneumonia and meningitis etc. Is this serious if swabs are showing that?

Stop googling for that.It may show u all the conditions caused by gram positive bacteria.Infection is common during neonatal period. If it is vaginal delivery then the chances r more.Thats it.Dont worry continue the treatment and follow up ur Dr regularly.
