Suggest Treatment For Growing Lump On Arm

I had a lump on my arm that has just been getting bigger and bigger for the last 5 days, I finally poked a hole in it this afternoon and squeezed alot of discharge out. I noticed little black pieces coming out with the yellow puss and blood, there was also a stringy thing that could have possibly been my actual vein, is that correct? What is going on with my arm, am I going to loose my arm??

Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. In my view, the lump you felt on your arm appears to be sebaceous cyst. They can appear anywhere on entire body and originates from skin. These cysts are closed sacs often caused by blocked glands or swollen hair follicles. They usually present as painless lump under the skin and is painless unless infected or inflamed. The black piece that came along with blood and discharge is the blocked gland or follicle. There is nothing to worry you will not lose your arm because of sebaceous cyst.
As you have already pricked it yourself, chances of causing infection at the site have increased. So you will need antibiotic to treat the condition at this stage, consult a doctor for better examination and start with antibiotics and aseptic dressing. If the cyst reappear after complete treatment don’t panic, as cyst have tendency to reappear. Consult a doctor, medications and sometimes drainage is required. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
