In nov14 , my TURBT done, boipsy report says cystitis cystica et glandularis with intertinal metaplasia. after 3 months recurrence found USG says 8mm thick mucosal irregularities at bladder trigone.with mild prostate enlarged. I feel poor urine flow.. I m 45 yr. Old.What should I do now. Is there any medicine which can dissolve growth ? From Nov to march I was prescribed nitrifurontoin & alfugress. Now I m taking hytrin 2mg.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A previous biopsy report showing intestinal metaplasia and current mucosal irregularities in the bladder mucosa could possibly be a growth in the bladder because intestinal metaplasia in urinary bladder is a risk factor for developing bladder cancer. Thus, biopsy of the mucosal irregularities is strongly indicated. Mildly enlarged prostate and poor urine flow are indicative of prostatic hyperplasia, however, a PSA level needs t be done. Thus, you need to go for biopsy from irregular bladder folds and PSA levels as initial investigations. Further management can be planned after these investigations.
