Suggest Treatment For H. Pylori Infection

My wife was diagnosed with H:Pylori in October, 2014, which she was treated and a recent followup test was negative. During her endoscopy in October, it was determined that she had a fatty liver and subsequent tests disclosed high liver enzymes. Subsequently she was directed to lose some weight, which she has been trying to do without much success, even though she exercises 60-90 minutes a day and eats very well. We even joined a weight reduction team at our health club and while she loses some weight, it seems to go back on. Can the fatty liver create a catch 22 situation, where a person cannot lose weight, because the liver is not functioning properly and slowing the metabolism down? Thanks...Arnie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
initially fatty liver has nothing to do with the metabolism of liver, as it continued to happen normally. and fatty liver as such cause no symptoms.
weight reduction is advised as because of elevated liver enzyme, as it may lead to metabolic syndrome.
In weight reduction process its diet which is more of a concern then exercise, therefore to have good weight reduction diet and exercise is a must, and fatty liver has no role here.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
