Suggest Treatment For Hallucinations And Breathing Difficulty While On Ativan
my mother has alzheimers and in a unit seems to be in the later stage but has recently started hallucinations and eyes wandering off. She seeems to be having difficulty breathing and one side of her face just today is drooping. The attending NP checked her today and said she just thought she was getting too much Ativan and did not have a stroke. She has had all Ativan and anti phsyc, meds held for the last 24 hours. My question is, can over use of Ativan cause any of her symptoms and do you think it could cause some sort of stroke. They also said her lungs were clear.
You can talk to the treating doctor & get Ativan replaced by a medication that suits her better or the doctor can reduce the dose & keep the patient under observation for further treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
