Suggest Treatment For Hard Bump On Face

Hello, I had a hard bump on my face near my jawline that was filled with mostly blood, but also a little bit of white fluid. It has constantly refilled with the aforementioned, but has reduced in size a little. The skin is red and is what I would call raw like new skin. First off, what can this be? Second of all, how can I get rid of it and the redness/raw skin?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hard bump on face near jawline which could be multi-factorial. It is getting refilled with blood and pus so probable chances of abscess and infection related to abscessed tooth could be there. It could be due to cystic acne as well. i would suggest you to maintain complete hygiene of area. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined. You can go for incision and drainage of area along with proper sterilization. Wash face with plain water. Avoid use of any steroidal drugs on face directly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain a hard bump near the jawline can be a hair follicle infection known as Folliculitis. It can occur due to bacterial infection of the hair follicle leading to formation of a lump that is painful..
You should take antibiotics as it is bacterial infection , you can take augmentin or Cephexime.
You can apply a triple antibiotic ointment over the bump after cleaning with betadine solution..
You can also take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
Do cold compresses over it..
Do not scratch it if it itches..
You can also apply a steroid ointment over it..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
